We hope you’ll join us for our community events in virtual space! We’re delighted to present a series of interactive webinars to accomplish the goals of our cancelled Action Conference: deepening analysis, sharing tools, sharpening skills, improving strategies, and weaving stronger relationships.
We launched the series with the Special Membership Meeting on April 15, where we shared our 2020 priorities and lots of program updates about how we’re transitioning our work during the pandemic. Twice a month in April, May, and June, we’ll host speakers or offer workshops.
The first speaker in our series is Organizer/Attorney/Author Zach Norris, who would have been our keynote speaker at our Action Conference. He’ll join us to talk about his new book, focused on care-based strategies, rather than cage-based strategies, to create real justice and real safety — which we’ll start reading together!
On May 6, we’re teaming up again with the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition – Spokane Chapter to offer “Anti-Asian Racism: Bystander Intervention Training,” an important workshop on how to speak up against anti-Asian racism in person or online. Click here for more information and to register.
On May 13, we’re presenting a panel of experts on how to identify, resist, and inoculate against white nationalist recruitment content in online spaces. With so many young people on the internet as schools are using online learning, there is more likely exposure to white nationalist recruitment content.
