We all want to live a more peaceful and nonviolent world. Here are 3 actions for peace that you can take right now:
1. Acknowledge the Hiroshima & Nagasaki nuclear bombings
Attend the Hiroshima & Nagasaki remembrance on Friday 8/6 from 5-6pm on the north side of the Spokane Opera House at 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. See poster with full information below.
Also, join Peace Action’s call to urge President Biden and congress to end plans for new nuclear weapons. Fill out the form here.
2. Say no to arms sales to human rights abusers
The U.S. government provides up to $1.3 billion every year in aid to Egypt’s military. Sign Win Without War’s petition to demand congress to cease arms sales to Egypt and all human rights abusers. Sign the petition here.
3. Call for an end to war in Yemen
The U.S. provides military support to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates enabling actions that cause millions of Yemenis to suffer. Urge President Biden to end all U.S. support for the war in Yemen by filling out Peace Action’s form. You can find the form here.
