Our families and neighbors need “Ban the Box,” our Fair Hiring Ordinance for Spokane! Let’s come together and talk about what’s real: Mass incarceration is hurting our families and community! Without a Fair Hiring policy in Spokane, no matter how qualified our returning citizens may be, their job applications are often thrown out at first glance due to their conviction record. We can win with the power of community coming together to let our voices be heard! Bring your family and friends to come eat together, hear personal stories from I Did The Time leaders, and share your own if you choose! We can win the upcoming vote on the Fair Hiring Ordinance at our City Council meeting, by sharing our stories or by being present in support. Every voice will be heard that night to ensure City Council knows how needed this ordinance is for our community!
BBQ and beverages provided! Bring a potluck item: salad, side dish, fruit, or dessert!
