Peace and Justice Action Committee needs you!
Peace and Justice Action Committee members went all-in for the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival launch with 40 Days of Action during May and June. We began with outreach, coordinated carpools to Olympia for six Mondays of direct action, and co-organized local report back rallies to highlight each week’s theme and action in Olympia. It has been exciting to be part of a national campaign focused on policy demands and reframing the moral debate for the same issues PJALS has addressed during our 43 years: systemic racism; poverty; and the war economy. You can learn more at poorpeoplescampaign.org.
Moving into phase two of the Poor People’s Campaign, our Peace and Justice Action Committee will focus on our work to advance peace and justice with an emphasis on the war economy, out of control militarism, and economic justice. We need your ideas, time, skills, and passion to help strengthen this committee and our work moving forward. We hope you will join us!
The Peace and Justice Action Committee meets on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Community Building, 35 W. Main.
