Our country is facing a dangerous rise in authoritarianism—one that seeks to concentrate power and wealth while targeting and scapegoating immigrant communities, trans people, and other beloved members of our communities. But this is not new. Around the world and throughout history, everyday people have organized, resisted, and successfully defeated authoritarian regimes.
This interactive workshop explores how people power—through nonviolent resistance, mass noncooperation, and collective courage—can stop anti-democratic forces in their tracks. Together, we’ll learn from successful movements, build a shared understanding of this moment, and strengthen our ability to take meaningful action.
Participants will engage with:
- Frameworks to better understand the current political landscape
- Key strategies drawn from successful resistance movements
- Practical tools for nonviolent action and collective noncompliance
- Opportunities to connect and build community with others committed to justice
Whether you’re new to organizing or already deeply involved, this space is for you. Come ready to learn, reflect, and take action alongside others who are committed to building a more just and democratic future.
What participants are saying:
“It is motivating, gives you ideas and gives you hope!”
“This workshop was highly structured and focused—if you’re down for the movement, it’s a must.”
“It gave me actionable item ideas vs. talk only!”
“I more thoroughly understand the different ways I can practice non-compliance and why it’s so important.”
Join us and be part of building the people power needed for this moment.
