WAISN Accompaniment Program โ In Person Volunteer Training
No one should have to face intimidating legal and administrative systems alone. The WAISN Accompaniment Program supports immigrant and refugee community members across Washington state by providing compassionate, in-person presence during stressful and high-stakes appointments.
Trained volunteers accompany individuals to:
- Court hearings
- Immigration appointments
- Detention-related proceedings
While the Accompaniment Program does not provide legal advice or legal representation, our volunteers offer steady, human support โ helping with logistics, emotional reassurance, and advocacy for dignity and humane treatment. Simply having someone there can make a powerful difference when navigating systems that are often overwhelming or intimidating.
This program is grounded in solidarity, care, and a commitment to justice. We show up to promote accountability, transparency, and the belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity โ regardless of immigration status.
