Bethany, the EWU Pride Center and community partners will host an exhibit of the Shower of Stoles from April 28 – May 4, 2012. The Shower of Stoles is a collection of liturgical items, each representing the life of a GLBTQ person in the church. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

PFLAG members from Spokane and Colville will lead a Parent Panel discussing their successes and challenges in raising and supporting their gay children. Panelists will share their own experiences and answer audience questions.

6:00 PM–8:00 PM “Growing Up LGBT in Spokane”
LGBT teens and young adults will share their stories of love, discrimination, and hope. Through their experiences, we will learn what our community can do to make a difference in their lives and the lives of other LGBT youth. Led by Odyssey Youth Center.

Led by Dr. Michael Adee, Executive Director of More Light Presbyterians.
Michael Adee will work with LGBT teens and young adults on reconciling their faith with being true to who they are.

6:00 PM–8:00 PM “Reconciling Faith and Homosexuality” Workshop
Led by Dr. Michael Adee, Executive Director of More Light Presbyterians.
Michael Adee will explore how the faith community can promote dialog and reconciliation with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons and their families. Community members of all faith traditions who are interested in promoting dialog and understanding are encouraged to attend.

Join us for a showing, followed by discussion, of this award-winning documentary about the experiences of five Christian parents struggling to accept their gay and lesbian children.

This discussion will be led by Washington United for Marriage about why marriage equality is more than just a civil rights issue – it’s an issue of love, commitment, and a better community. Learn what the faith community can do to support this important step toward equality.

Johnston, along with Dr. Michael Adee, will share how the church community can use its voice to end the silence and work for inclusion of LGBT people of faith.
