Anti-ICE Workplace Rights Training & Canvass

Help build Spokane’s community readiness by joining PJALS and Washington Neighborhood Defense (WAND) for an anti-ICE workplace rights training and canvass.
In this interactive training, participants will learn how to share basic Fourth Amendment rights information with local workplaces, distribute Know Your Rights materials and rapid response tools, and practice conversations with workers, managers, and business owners. Participants will also learn how to talk with friendly workplaces about broader collective action strategies, including the role a general strike can play in resisting authoritarian policies and protecting our communities.
After the training, we’ll head out together in pairs for a workplace canvass. This is an opportunity to immediately put the training into practice while helping more workplaces across Spokane County understand their rights and connect with community resources.

Washington Neighborhood Defense (WAND) is an all-volunteer statewide group that has generously shared its canvassing materials and expertise with PJALS. PJALS will provide canvassing materials for participants in our workplace canvassing program in the Spokane County area.
