Anti-ICE Workplace Rights Canvassing Training & Canvass
Help build Spokane’s community readiness by joining Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane (PJALS) and Washington Neighborhood Defense (WAND) for an Anti-ICE Workplace Rights Canvassing Training & Canvass.
As immigrant communities face escalating attacks, it is more important than ever that workplaces understand their rights and know how to respond to encounters with immigration enforcement. This interactive training will equip participants with practical skills to help strengthen community preparedness across Spokane County.
During the training, participants will learn how to:
- Share basic Fourth Amendment rights information with local workplaces.
- Distribute Know Your Rights materials and rapid response resources.
- Practice conversations with workers, managers, and business owners.
- Talk with supportive workplaces about broader collective action strategies, including the role a general strike can play in resisting authoritarian policies and protecting our communities.
Following the training, participants will head out in pairs for a guided workplace canvass. This is an opportunity to immediately put new skills into practice while helping more workplaces across Spokane County understand their rights and connect with community resources.
Have you attended a WAND training before? Join us again! This training includes an updated curriculum and additional opportunities to practice workplace canvassing skills.
Pizza and light refreshments will be provided. The training location will be shared with registered participants.
